Alvin Mentian Kamara (born July 25, 1995) is an American football running back for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League.
He transferred from Hutchinson Community College to the University of Tennessee and was drafted by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was named NFL Rookie of the Year in 2017, has appeared in five Pro Bowls, and is a two-time second-team All-Pro.
In 2020, Kamara surpassed Ernie Nevers as the second player in NFL history to score six rushing touchdowns in a single game.
Kamara was born to a Liberian mother. He went to Norcross High School in Norcross, Georgia. He was a member of the Blue Devils high school football team.
Kamara was named Georgia’s Mr. Football by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Class 6A Player of the Year, and first-team All-State by the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
